Formerly Till Dairy – now Citizens Bank
OUR HISTORY

50 Years… and going Strong!

The Church Women United organized Care and Share in 1971, it is a public, non-profit, faith based agency which works to help the community by reducing the stigma surrounding food insecurity and working to eradicate hunger. Some of the prominent founders were Millie Millar, Murita Ott, Mary Lee Wood, Ruth Parker, and Rev. Paul Stengel.

Distribution of clothing, food, and furniture started on Wayne Street in the Till Dairy Building formerly located where the back of Citizens Bank is now.

MOVING FOR GROWTH

Care and Share of Erie County then moved to the Feick building. Not having enough room, we moved again to the Erie County Office Building on Columbus Avenue (known as the “the Old Folks Home”).

THE SUPPORT FOR CARE & SHARE OF ERIE COUNTY HAS BEEN OVERWHELMING
OUR CAUSES

We Raise Money To Help Our Neighbors In Need Throughout Erie County with Supplemental and Emergency Food, Clothing, Linens, and Housewares.

Join Our Mission Of Providing Supplemental and Emergency Food, Clothing, Linens, And Housewares.

Time is one of our most precious commodities, juast as our Volunteers are. Without our volunteers, we would only be an idea. Care & Share is able to function and run daily due to the generosity of our volunteers.

How often you would like to volunteer is up to you! Choose what works for your schedule – weekly, monthly or more/less frequently. We have some new services to offer if we can get enough volunteers to help meet the needs of the community. We accept companies/groups that would like to volunteer, individual volunteers, students looking to fulfill volunteer hours, and those wishing to complete community service hours.
